Episode discussion: 202 "New Eden"

You know I've been a cynic of Discovery, it has it highlights but also a lot of problems. This is the first episode where it really felt like a traditional Star Trek episode, the prime directive, the solving a crisis for a planet that can't defend itself, it brought me back to the Next Generation feeling where you just see the enterprise parked in front of a planet and they start trying to figure out how to save it. Michael is still a concern for me though, she kind of takes everything by the scruff of the neck and imposes herself on it, the bit with Tilly at the start kind of highlighted this more to me but she does it really often, even with Pike last week. I'm looking forward to see if it continues but I'm still hesitant when it comes to involving Spock in the story still.
