According to the Jewish Tradition: God shows his favor to the Israelites by inflicting the plagues upon Egypt to reveal his power.

Miracles are part and parcel of the Abrahamic tradition. The Abrahamist would most definitely argue that such a tribulation of nature occurred by the fiat of the almighty, which would validate his religious beliefs.
