Equality is a paradox.

While I appreciate the feel of this video and the need for stronger action on gender inequality, it is just too easy to make broad indictments of shadowy evils at play. We need to address specific issues with practical solutions.

For example, before I moved away from Texas, they were fighting to keep abortion services available to the majority of Texas women.

People were fighting to keep a charter school association, with deep pockets and a religious bent, from teaching absurdist curriculum in publicly-funded schools.

They were fighting the assault on sexual education that's contributing to poverty-stricken (mostly non-white) young women's unplanned pregnancy rates.

These are all issues that seriously affect the lives of women in Texas, with specific actions that can be taken in the form of letters to public office and editorials, protests, stand-ins, and good old voting.

I only moved here in November, so I've really not been exposed to the pressing issues here in Northern Colorado.

I'm not trying to denigrate your efforts, and I deeply respect the urgency to bring attention to things like wage inequality, lack of governmental support for maternity leave and prenatal care, and the myriad other issues that present legitimate threat to the well-being and equality of women.

I really like the editing of your video, it shows great promise. But the only way this video works just as a teaser, is if it's immediately followed up with the cause of this paradox. As soon as we go to your site after watching, we need to know what practical action you're taking or advocating against which entities or actions, or else it feels like a teardrop in the rain, for lack of a better term.
