Eric Weinstein on the enforced monogamy

What is this ancient wisdom I keep hearing about, nothing I read about history strikes me as having been overall better than what we have now, I have not read about better decision making, better policies, better understanding of each other, better anything really. Can someone give me an example of what ancient wisdom we have lost that used to make life overall better when we have now? The only thing that might be close-ish is that sense of community used to be stronger. But at what cost? Spending whole life in 150 people commune with more or less "might makes right" mindset? I believe that as humanity we have actually discovered better way to live than we used to.
