The thing I find funny about this whole thing is the false moral outrage by the media that he shamed ZQ for cheating and how outrageous and destructive that was, doesn't matter how emotionally destructive she was no one deserves that.

Now as an experiment go to google and type in media cheater shaming and just look through the last few years. The media loves to cheater shame. They love the public reaction to cheater shaming. Oh here's one from one of the sites that spearheaded the "this is awful how can he do this" thing tht is from the exact same time the Zoe post was dropping. Why is it different?

ZQ probably doesn't deserve the attention she got, but do any of these people? Why did society get their undies in a wad about some no name game designer yet will run a story about any of these other people and then run a followup story about how 270 thousand people voted on this guy should have been shamed.

And to go back to the OP, yes the difference is because of who she knew. She knew most of the people that wrote the original articles or was ideologically supported by them. The mainstream media in it's laziness saw a small story that was hot, realized there was cash there, and ran the story without fact checking anything like they do everyday. Perfect example of that is the whole nude pictures thing with her spreading the word that GG hacked her and spread them. Except that they were offered for free on a site that is still up. Should have been easy for the media to shut down that claim but why would they? It plays into the emotional response that they wanted to get for the easy click cash. Chances are they didn't even contact either side. They used the old college rewrite where you change a few words to call it yours and then posted it.
