Establish 'black-only' spaces at your festival? It will be banned and you'll be prosecuted, says Paris mayor. American uni presidents baffled.

Here in Canada (QC), it's starting to spread. I work in a university, and my position makes it so that I see every litigious case that arise in the institution. Some departments are "infected" if you can say so. Worst is that the administration cater to every little special snowflake request, in order to protect themselves from a media storm. 5+ years ago it was mostly things related to religion. Soon after the race card issue followed. Now we're seeing the emergence of the whole gender/identity phenomena.

Recently there was a discussions about creating a safe space for people who identifies as "non binary gender and all those ***sexual orientations". A psychology professor suggested this safe space be located next to the psychology clinic because obviously these people need psychological help. Which caused a bunch of social studies professors (!) to get all worked up which basically ended up with the psychology professor telling them all off saying they're all as crazy as them special snowflakes and walking away from the "debate" (which was more of them yelling profanities at him).

We're also starting to see much more of SJW in the student population. We had a professor get a harassment claim because she misgendered a student that was feeling "male" that day after being in her "female" identity for much of the semester. One day she showed up in class dressed as a guy and threw a fit when the professor call her "she", not knowing she wanted to be called by an alternative masculine name on her "male" days. Worst it that the professor actually felt bad for misgendering the student and now wants the university to create a protocol and training so it doesn't happen again... Also the whole Tumblr look is getting more and more prevalent. It's like they are actively trying to fit the stereotype.

Then we had the case of a student from a racial minority claim systemic racism and the patriarchy in order to get allowed back in her highly competitive program after she got expelled for failing 2 semesters in a row. Which is incredibly funny because the program director is a woman from a racial minority itself. The university ended up reintegrating the student in the program against everyone's wishes at the condition the student dropped her discrimination claim. This was shit case the university did everything to be keep under wrap. The student got expelled again after physically assaulting a guy in the classroom and now she pursuing her degree elsewhere. The ethic committee is regularly accused of racism because they punish students who went against the ethic code (mostly cheating). So far only one got expelled, the other were allowed to stay and "given another chance" since "they aren't familiar with our ways".

Then we also had the case of a Muslim student who wanted to do his prayers in class but other students complained he was disturbing the classroom because he put the prayer calls on his phone and did his prayers loudly. When asked to go outside he asked the class be put on hold because then he would miss important information. This was also a shit case that the school did everything to keep under wrap. This ended up in a verbal war against with another Muslim that called him off. In the end the school agreed to pay someone to keep an eye on him so he could do his prayers outside the test room during finals to ensure he didn't cheat.

To followup with another Muslim student, we have the guy who refused to do a team projects with women. It's another highly competitive and intensive program, and the professor refused to accommodate him, saying we're in Canada, we don't discriminate against women. Another fucking thing the school did everything in their power to keep under wrap, finally the student left unexpectedly and we'll never know what happened. And then we also have the guy, a current case, who is Canadian as beavers and maple syrup, converted to Islam and berate a female lecturer about her place in the world because he was pissed off he failed a project. Other female professors and lecturers are so afraid of the guy they created a buddy system, especially for evening courses. So far the university refuse to act.

Every single one of those cases happened in the last school year.
