Established Network Engineers, to get a degree or not ?

Thanks for the response. I totally get where your coming from.

I’ve been through one major recession already in Ireland 2008 when a huge chunk of the workforce lost their jobs in one year and all of a sudden there were thousands of people applying for every job. It got to the stage where employers wanted people to have degrees just to work in their convenience store behind the counter.

That’s exactly why I went back to college during this period but I never progressed to a degree at the time.

In the UK where I live now there is a strong possibility of a recession coming up in the next few years due to us leaving the EU, and I don’t want to be the network guy who’s cv is getting canned because there is no degree on it when I’m competing with 1000 others for the same job.
