Etho Plays Minecraft - Episode 401: Automatic Item Sorting [24:41]

The Nexus is amazing to watch in action. I love it.

I have a feeling my response to the video question will be different than most. I've always felt that consistency and frequency of videos is vitally important to a channel's health. Four videos a week might be OK if they were all of the same thing, but that's not the case here. They're all different, and many if not most viewers don't watch them all. (I don't watch the modded SP myself.) So the most frequently-produced series comes up a couple of times a week (again, borderline OK), but something like FlyBoys is once every two weeks, maybe? Hermitcraft around once a week. And that doesn't work very well. I honestly feel that's starting to get to the point where viewers are lost over it. (As someone primarily interested in MP, I have felt the pain for a long time now, and it has spilled over into my willingness to always click on videos when they come up, particularly when shorter on time.)

tl;dr -- I believe that viewers respond much better to something that is consistent and frequent -- almost no matter what it is -- than to something that's not.

So I'm glad at least that Etho recognizes it as an issue and wants to do something about it. As for what, I do think the addition of easy-to-produce mini-series (especially multiplayer coughcoughignoreme) would be a good idea. I know there have been issues in the past with viewer complaints about such series, thinking erroneously that they were slowing down production of other videos, but I think in the long run there's more to gain with them than to lose. Plus, I almost always enjoy them. :)

The other option would be to cut something, but the only series I could at all see going would be FlyBoys, and that would still be a bit of a shame.

Anyway, my two cents.
