The EU is considering a ban on AI for mass surveillance and social credit scores

Yes you’re right and that is one of my few complaints about it(also how higher credit limits boost your score) but rich people can pay in cash often easier than poor people. No lower income person can afford a $20k car in full but someone making $80k might be able to, or may be in a mountain of debt. One thing about rich people is banks are more willing to lend them money they aren’t so likely to pay back, and a $15k charged off credit card will wreck your credit for 7 years. One good thing is some brewer FICO scoring models are excluding medical debt, and many places(like where I work) don’t count any amount of medical collections against you.
