EU politicians say Boris Johnson’s defeat would be ‘good news’ for the bloc – POLITICO

Did they go out of their way to find complete lightweights or are these the only two individuals willing to pick up the phone?

They also quote a French guy, so it's 3, not 2. Which is not uncommon for a - rather short - news article.

some Dutch guy nobody has ever heard of

This goes for 95% (most likely even more) of the European Parliament. No one has ever heard of them. I bet you can't name more than 10 MEP's without Googling them. Same goes for the EC. The fact that no one ever heard of him, isn't really an argument. Besides that, they are just as much MEP's as any other MEP. Why shouldn't they be asked about their opinion? Should the media only talk to well-known politicians? I hope not. And even more so, I highly doubt these 2 (or 3) MEP's are the only ones who feel this way about Boris.

I personally don't care if Boris is booted or not. I don't think it matters for the EU. Like the French guy says: “Johnson was not in favor of any acceptable compromise with Europe, but the responsibility goes mainly to the Tory Party and his replacement with another Tory would not improve things.”

This is mainly an internal issue, not so much a European one. Also, I highly doubt that Boris will be voted out this evening.
