Why the EU remains, for now, the most ambitious political project the world has ever seen

Well let me tell you.

I grew up in the heart of England. Across the road from a mosque. I used to think the outbreeding argument was racist bullshit. Then I saw it with my own eyes. The speed should not be underestimated. Not only do they have more kids but they have them at a younger age so they also have shorter generations.

Local population density in the past couple of years has increased noticeably. My home city will be a muslim majority city in a decade or so.

We've been patient, we've been welcoming. My family is literally the end of white flight.

I accept you get good people and bad people in every group. But the negative behaviour outcomes of Islam should not be underestimated. Grooming of children is certainly going on in my area. There are definitely ISIS members in/from my city. The abuse of muslim women is really unbelievable (I mean seriously, people have called me a racist for simply sharing anecdotes).

The other thing that should not be underestimated is the spread of fundamentalism. I really believe we had mostly moderates here less than a decade ago. But now on a 2 minute journey to the shop I see a half dozen full burkas and if anything, I'm understating rather than exaggerating.

I think the birthrates issue is a red herring. I thought we had the boogeyman of automation on the horizon? One would think if we sensibly managed that they would somewhat cancel each other out.
