Germany is without a doubt the dominant political body in the EU, with the exception of France, because they’re a Nuclear power and all.

Germany is on the brink of being an economic superpower on its own, it actually rivals China in volume of exported goods annually. Germany is so economically dominant that it’s put systems in place that have, in essence, tied the EU’s nations to that economy, through huge EU funding loans from The Germans and French.

Being in the EU means, in essence, being under the watchful eye of Berlin. It’s mostly Germany doing the economic support in the EU, and therefore it’s mostly Germany with all of the influence and soft power
