Unfortunately i right now don't have the time to write an indepth answer, but in short - you're not right. During 1939-1941 Soviet Union and Nazi Germany signed few treaties, including cooperation agreement, and "alliance". Also worth noting is joined parade of Nazi and Soviet armies in conquered city of Brest. And there were quite a bit of cooperation before that. Of course jakals cannot be real friends, so both sides looked to stab each other in the back, germany was to deliver first blow, and to receive the last.
