Eurobonds are not the answer

In good times, Italy wants nothing to do with the EU. Its populist leaders were quite clear on how they thought about it. They kept neglecting the budgetting rules year after year, kept spending money, even when there was no recession. Kept promising its citizens not to raise retirement age and other non-essential benefits.

Now that the shit hits the fan, they all turn to Europe and instead of blaming Europe for interfering with Italian affairs, they blame Europe for not interfering with Italian affairs.

Learn to save money in good times, so you have some spare in bad times. Once you've learnt that basic economic concept, we can talk again. For now, just take the money we're offering directly to help in the immediate corona crisis, but stop making this a political thing to get your eurobonds.
