I tried asking about what is going on regarding the blackouts in Kyiv but all I got was a bunch of downvotes and no concrete answer.

So I looked into this further and this is what I’ve been able to gather:

Kyiv has prepared 1000 heating points. But this will not be enough to cover 3 million people. In case of a total blackout, Kyiv civillians will have to be evacuated, as Klitschko has said. However, they are only planning for such a scenario. As it stands right now, things are still under control so the civilians are urged not to panic and to conserve electricity.

Elsewhere, Putin has called for Kherson to be evacuated because Ukrainians are gaining ground fast.
