You're mistaking my confusion of what these tactics are supposed to accomplish for someone who's offended by them or someone who takes an opposing stance that cars are bad for the environment.

What I'm really trying to point out is that this tactic of shaming, insulting and condescendingly speaking down on people isn't a very effective method of helping them to see the harm our dependence on cars has on the environment and in most cases will have the opposite effect. Instead of helping, you're harming the movement by building resentment toward it in others who haven't yet learned of the alternatives, don't fully understand the harm to the environment being caused or both. This rude behavior is more likely to create resentment, slowing progress of the movement and pushing some to intentionally act against your wishes and refuse to hear your arguments out of spite for the way they were talked down to.
