That state of semi-consciousness, the dream-like state of swimming images was immediately addicting to me. I remember visions of traveling through fantasy lands, landscapes and waterfalls and deserts and pyramids.

I was addicted after the very first time I used, after a traumatic breakup where I walked in on my girlfriend naked in bed with a close friend who I had known for years. Then in a terrible mental state I was offered some dope, and from then on I was fucked. It instantly took all the pain away that night, it went from the worst night of my life to the most pleasurable.

Unfortunately it didn't actually throw the pain away, just stored it up in a savings account where it collected interest.
