Hi, I'm fairly new to the community, having just learned about it. I've been reading a lot, and trying to reply to some prompts, but I rarely get responses from people, maybe one in ten. And I take a good deal of effort in crafting a lot of my messages!

Other times, I've had a story or role-play fizzle out because, as we continue to discuss the prompt and set-up, my writing partner gets bored (or something) and drops me like a hot potato. I have no idea if I'm just not doing it right, or...

Anyway, I hope I find a quality writing partner soon! Alas, it increasingly feels like I'm wasting my time and energy here. Is my failure rate (80-90% no reply) normal? Or am I just having a rough go of it? Looking for some input here, because if this is the normal, I'm okay just reading smut and not writing it.
