Yep. 1 or 2 family members are out in the open white nationalists. Possibly Neo Nazi's. Not sure about the latter but the former is a certainty. Both are in the armed forces (I honestly think there's something stinky going around in the military in this regard too, but that's just my suspicion. I wouldn't be surprised to know there's a lot of far right sympathizers in the ranks currently).

Reads/donates to daily stormer, drops regular dog whistles about blacks and "the Jews" in everyday conversation, thinks David Duke's books are scholarly works, poses goofy questions to discredit the Holocaust from time to time, confronts my family about how whites are disappearing off the face of the planet.

Do they know MY views? Fuck no. I don't even approach politics with this person. I just pay good enough attention to WN propaganda to not be so stupid as to not see where all of this ideology is coming from. In fact, this person being out in the open has made me feel a bit more cautious in regard to the subject I approach. I think some of my family members don't actually have a clue or think 'oh he's just a bit more conservative than the rest of us, its NBD LEL'.

I don't ever hope to have a serious political conversation with this person and I try to avoid it all costs. I think it would get ugly fast. Not so much physical violence, but I think it would fundamentally change the relationship I have with this person.

They're a 2nd degree away from my immediate family, so we're in pretty close contact. I can discuss and agree on quite a bit, but any time they start getting into the whole racial divide bullshit, they've lost me. Otherwise, the general criticisms of capitalism I've found myself thinking they're pretty correct on.
