I don’t think monogamy is the only valid way, but holy fuck do I think it’s special!

Like, you’re choosing to not act on desires for the sake of another human being. That’s tough stuff! It wouldn’t be that special if it was easy! My Dad even took the Mike Pence approach, where he would not ever be alone with a woman (outside of occasional work commitments - and even then he tried to minimize them).

I know a lot of people think that’s terrible/awful/disgusting. And my Dad is far from perfect. But him and my mom had a long, wonderful marriage. I obviously don’t know everything about their relationship, but I do know neither of them ever had to question each others’ commitment. What a fucking beautiful thing to give to another human being!
