Ever felt the need to press the pause button on your FIRE journey?

I haven't hit the pause button, but I am shifting focus more.

I'm actually pretty happy with my job, and while that could always change, I'm feeling like I can enjoy what I have more right now. And I want to. I want to enjoy more things.

I went back to school last year ($8k/year, for 5-6 years). It's not a career move, I just wanted to. I'm planning to spend around $3k this year on two vacations; I haven't traveled much at all and I want to start now. Today I sat down and did some research on my next car, and narrowed down my choices to a few extremely impractical ~$30k ones, even though my timeline is probably 3 years before I'm really in the market for one. I've hated my current car since I bought it 4 years ago; it was the practical choice for a responsible adult, and gets me from point A to point B efficiently, but it's boring to drive. Can't wait to get into something else.

I've basically decided to keep my retirement savings where it's at and use most of my raises, etc, to improve my life instead moving forward. I'll still be plugging along at an awesome rate, just not quite as awesome as it could be.
