Dauntless Crimeans - I didn't really want Nephenee, but I did want Wrath. Before that point, I would occasionally spend money on orbs, but never much and never frequently. This banner, though, I decided I would be ok with spending a little more on orbs. For a few reasons, a little turned into a lot and I didn't notice a problem right away.

I got nearly 10 Oscars on that banner and have to this day not pulled Nephenee. I ended up spending much more money than I was ok with and that turned me off to ever spending money on the game. It really soured my enjoyment of the game as a whole. I mostly got over being pissed off about it as long as I don't think about the actual odds of pulling that many Oscars and no Nephenees, and now consider it an object lesson in how susceptible I am to the gambler's fallacy.

Right now I have a 5% pity rate on the Awakening banner and have already gotten two pitybreakers, and while that's not nearly as bad and I'm not particularly upset about it, I am probably going to remember it every time I consider pulling for a character I don't really want for the next few months.
