Have you ever laughed so hysterically at something so simple you were starting to get legitimately worried that you were losing your sanity or something? About what were you laughing so hard then?

I walked into the dining room of my future mother-in-law's summer home and rightly stated "This room is so large, you could have a hoop at each end!" Well, she was a bit flustered and thought I said "This room is so large, you could have a WOOPITY CHIN." Being we were raised in different cultures, with a bit of language barrier, she paused for a moment, then asked what type of celebration is a WOOPITY CHIN? Of course, I stiffled my laughter, but my husband was close behind. He wouldn't let his mom off the hook so easy. He started teasing her about making fun of his future bride's (my) chin, which is an entirely other laugh track surrounding the rather deep dimple on my chin.

To this day, my husband and I can't even say WOOPITY CHIN without busting our guts laughing. I'm nearly in tears writing this because the memory is so fond. It's a nonsense phrase that has spanned decades and spurred so many side jokes about dining in that massive room, you would think we were all insane.
