Have you ever quit a job, without another lined up, for you mental health? How did it turn out?

I...completely meant to...

Got "suckered into" satellite installations full-time while doing computer repair (same company)...was ready to quit after my installation work went from 20% of my work time to 100% of my work time.

I drafted my resignation letter, a week later had it finalized, two days before I submitted I was offered an old job back at a higher pay-rate and an offering for a better position...I immediately resigned to go back to my previous job.

My previous job is in retail - I know I'm in a minority who would go BACK to retail.

I still do computer repair, on the side, which I love...but i am so damn fulfilled in my mediocre retail position.

If I stayed in the satellite install gig I'd be making WAY more money...but the satisfaction of helping people in a hardware store far outpaces trying to do computer repair for others under a "boss"...

In the retail environment I have a multitude of coworkers, who can help me learn new things - which I try to deeply absorb at every opportunity when fielding questions, AND can straight up disappear after not knowing what the fuck the customer is asking (I'm human, after all).
