Have you ever quit a job, without another lined up, for you mental health? How did it turn out?

Yes! In my third year of uni I had a retail job (for about three years) that essentially took away my mornings before class ans my weekends. It was a pretty good deal as it covered tuition + housing. But the job was horrible.

As senior employee I had new employees that didnt listen to me and management that yelled at me. not to mention the customers. It gave me quite a lot of stress on top of the stress I already had from uni. And it essentially meant I was permanently tired.

So I quit. Was without a job for about 8 months. Had to resort to student loans in that period. But i’d do it again. Now I have a job that pays slightly worse, but the hours are much better, and I actually enjoy working there. So it doesn’t really feel as a job.
