Have you ever quit your job without another job lined up?

Yup. It was not just a toxic job but also a pretty sketchy situation. I was being asked to find reasons to unjustly fire an employee- which I refused to do. At first, I took a demotion but despite that, quickly became target #1 because management knew I knew what was going on, and knew I was about to be fired. I went out to my car, called legal/ethics & whistleblew and reported the crap outta what was happening, got them to pay me in leui of a notice and paid out my time off. Then I sent all the documentation I had on everything to allll the hire ups. Then I walked off my shift & never looked back. The employee was safe (I think they're still there! Last I heard mgt hadn't dared to touch their job again lol). The report triggered a major departmental investigation the very next day.

Meanwhile, I found a new job within a few weeks.

Your health- physical and mental- is more important than anything. Not to mention, you will set yourself up for much more success by giving yourself some time off before getting in a new job instead of running straight from toxic job A to new job B. You're more likely to miss red flags and desperately take a bad offer- or settle, when you could have spent some time really doing some good soul searching and company searching for a new workplace. You're in a fantastic financial situation to do this (just keep in mind health care costs, if that applies). I say take that job and shove it!
