ome friendly cop called me within the hour to tell me that they had recovered my bike. When I went to recover it, I had to wait for a train to pass (as the impound lot is on the other side of the tracks), and a police cruiser pulled up next to me (I was on foot). The train takes a while, and the cops roll down the window to ask how long I'd been waiting. One thing lead to another, and told them why I was there, and it turned out to be the friendly officer that I had talked to the day before. All in all, felt very lucky, and was impressed with the VPD for being so helpful and friendly.

I had done everything right, yet when I went to get a copy of the file, it apparently never existed.
