Have you ever stopped listening to an audiobook because the tone of the narrator was so annoying.

I had to scrap Life in Motion by Misty Copeland because the narrator made her sound even more self-centered than the book did. I couldn’t take it.

I do have one nitpick. She wasn’t saying hers is the only way to be a minimalist. She is saying hers is the best way to organize once and for all. Kondo’s book is often mistaken for minimalism but it definitely isn’t. She benefits from minimalism but ultimately she’s an organizer. She believes in happiness not through discarding but by keeping only what sparks joy. If everything you hoard sparks joy, she’d tell you to keep all of it because she believes everyone has a different number of items that make them happy. A number of minimalists on YouTube have noted the difference after reviewing her show Tidying Up. She also comes off much stronger in her book (possibly, Asian bluntness?) than in real life.
