Have you ever successfully stopped a repeat marketing or scam phone call? How did you do it?

My friend kept receiving calls from these people claiming that they needed to reach some woman to collect a debt. We were hanging out in the park sitting in his car one day for non-sexual reasons and the number happened to call again. I answered the phone with the worst Southern accent possible. It sounded like kermit the frog swallowed a farmer from Kentucky. I explained to the man on the phone that the woman he was looking for was my wife. He reacted by saying he didn't know she had a husband. I claimed it was a "common law marriage". I spent the rest of the call explaining that I'm just a broke working man making his money in a hippity hop factory and I can't pay back any debts. I also talked about how she may be having an affair. He eventually said he'd call me back and hung up. Needless to say he never did.
