Have you ever taken someone up on an offer of, "well if there's anything I can do to help, let me know," and if so, how did it end up?

They're nice, but...

Mormon's killed my great-grandmother. She was too polite to make them go away. In the middle of a Winnipeg winter, they asked if she'd like to go out and knock on doors with them. Now, she was like 80 at the time. It's probably like -30C outside and they ask her to come out.

So, great-grandma gets kitted out, steps outside onto her front porch... And slips on the ice. Falls down all the stairs. Breaks her hips and several other bones. She didn't even make it to the goddamn sidewalk.

She died a week or so later.

I mean, it's not directly murder, but... Why the fuck did they think, "Sure, this frail old mummy would be fine outside in temperatures that will freeze her skin in minutes with icy, uneven snow-packed sidewalks?"
