Do you ever find yourself defending presidential actions that you disagree with, because you believe the president is treated unfairly in aggregate?

Yes, and without that "collective" mentality Trump wouldn't have done as well in the elections. Trump has turned the Republican party into the party of Trump. It is part of why so many Republicans were afraid to stand up to Trump, because Republican voters have a much more tribal like mentality now. I don't necessarily think this is bad thing....as long as the outcome is for the greater good of the country. But this is obviously where morals and ethics come into play. I understand that a President/candidate may say things you disagree with, but you realize the end game will make it all worth it.

I think the division comes from, how many bad things can Trump say or do until one of his supporters quits the team? Certain policies, beliefs, agendas, etc can be the motivating factor like I mentioned. Trump can do pretty much anything as long as he keeps our borders safe, or even my taxes low. Those motivating factors are things I believe Trump supporters are misinformed about, but that's a different argument anyway. Non-supporters feel Trump has always or has already crossed the line in many ways. We are disgusted by his rhetoric and actions, which some Trump supporters are willing to excuse, but the real difference is we don't share the willingness to turn the cheek because we disagree on actual policy/agenda.

I'm just rambling bit anyway. I've tried very hard to understand Trump supporters, and anyone on whatever political spectrum they find themselves. It is very interesting to me!
