Every 6 years, a certain feud re-ignites...

I disagree. Their matches, have been straight up horrible. Their feud in 98 had bad matches saved by the inferno match gimmick. The Wrestlemania XX match was a horrible match, saved by the return of the deadman character. Their 2010 feud while Kane was champion featured some of the worst wrestling that year. They routinely got like 1/2 a star or 1 star ratings at best, from a variety of reviewers.

I think a lot of this is playing on nostalgia, many of us on this sub were in our early teens during the 98 feud and the thought of it reminds us of that time period, when we fell in love with wrestling and the attitude era took off.

Objectively, this match will be horrible. Their 2010 matches were some of the worst matches of that entire year, spanning every promotion. Also, the story-lines regarding the matches haven't matched much sense. 98 was fine, but Wrestlemania XX made no sense; why does Kane help Vince burying the Undertaker? They were on separate brands, and it wasn't like they were interfering with anyone else's business. Kane never explains it, and it's never explained why Taker returns as the deadman. In reality, Taker just wanted time off, creative realized they didn't have plans for either of them at WM and just stuck them together in a makeshift match.

There was the 2010 Kane/Taker feud about Kane attacking Taker and leaving him in a vegetative state. Okay, that premise works out, but again did Kane simply attack him to be WHC? Why does Paul Bearer turn on Undertaker? How did the urn get it's mystical power? Why did the Nexus interfere in their match? It's just bad story line writing in general.

Kane is also not on the same level as Undertaker to be taken seriously. Taker has been a rare character, showing up only for big matches like WM at to feud with Lesnar. Kane as corporate Kane was routinely losing and eating the pins on every Raw/Smackdown and PPV. Even when Kane came back as demon Kane, he got beat clean by Seth. Kane's not a credible opponent at this point for the Undertaker, it'll be a foregone conclusion Taker wins.

I just wish we could separate nostalgia from the reality, and the reality is, this match will be really bad. It's been 6 years from their last program, which featured some of the worst wrestling ever, and Taker especially has accumulated a lot of injuries in that time span, he's not going to be able to carry this to a great match. It's also lazy booking to just re-start a feud. Give someone else a chance to face Taker to get the rub off and catapult him into stardom; a guy like Kevin Owens, maybe Sheamus, hell I'd be down to watch a Reigns vs Taker match, but please, just not another Kane vs Taker.
