I’d like to make it clear up fromt that I hate Blizzard, and what they’ve done is absolutely deplorable.

That being said, I value the truth above all else, and I honestly think this account thing is probably just technical.

I mean, think about it.
If the amount of active accounts being deleted suddenly jumps up by 10,000% in a single day, that could cause all sorts of shit.
The first, and most obvious, is causing the servers to overload and break, something Blizzard is well-known to have had problems with in the past.

It’s also possible someone in security saw a metric fuckload of accounts suddenly being deleted, assumed an attack is happening, panicked, and pulled the plug.

I don’t like defending Blizzard, but at the same time, doing this intentionally and maliciously would be hilariously illegal.
I wonder if even they’d be stupid enough to try that, especially if money is their primary motivator.
