Every job should be appreciated

Not true in my experience. Youre right that 90% wont make it to those positions, but its not due to lack of opportunity.

Sad reality is there is a shocking amount of people who dont want any responsibility. We have techs working here that have 25 year of experience and are just glorified helpers, they don't even want to become a lead tech let alone foreman despite offering them the positions as we are always short staffed. One of our best foremen currently is a 22 year old kid who just got into this work a few years ago, but hes one of the few that have ambition and drive and he runs crews of grown ass men old enough to be his father.

Also im in my early 30s and i am now an estimator, i started as an entry level helper in the feild. Plenty of opportunity in the trades, up to you how far you want to take it.
