Every moment I spend in prison in Bahrain stains the reputation of F1 | Najah Yusuf

I always see so much outrage towards countries like Bahrain. But the same outrage is never applied to a country like the USA, where they got something in place like Guantanamo Bay. I guess that's become totally normalized in peoples minds. I'm not defending countries like Bahrain here. Just saying there's a bit of hypocrisy going on. Pretty sure the US also violates a bunch of human rights and supports countries all over the world that do even worse. Next to that the US is pretty active with meddling in politics of different countries around the world. (The same thing Russia did to the US in the previous US elections). There's also a GP in Russia. What about that? Russia also violates plenty of human rights. Same goes for China.

There's something so weird about this hypocrisy. Like being outraged about a Qatar World Cup due to human slavery. But you post such a comment on a phone made by a laborer that threw himself off a building and you're wearing shoes made by a little kid in a sweatshop. It's like picking and choosing what's most convenient for you to be outraged about. You like your Nike shoes and your smartphone, you want to keep to use them even you know it's made under very terrible conditions and people are being screwed over for it.

Just to be clear. I'm not defending Bahrain or Qatar when they violate human rights. I'm saying people should be outraged the same way about it all. But it seems that a lot has been normalized and that's scary. And when I post a comment like this, calling for people to wake up and not just be outraged by 1 thing, people seem to get mad and double down on how terrible Qatar/Bahrain are. I get it, they violating human rights. I never debated that. My point is: it's all bad and there's a lot of bad things happening. Quit defending 1 bad thing or ranking another bad thing over another. It's all bad.
