I have read it thoroughly many times. All the things I mentioned are literally mentioned in Qur'an. Nowadays, modern islamic figures tend to interpret these laws differently to not lose followers but this doesn't change the fact that literal translations suggest otherwise. These laws were all practiced at the time of Muhammad and his successors and are still practiced in some islamic countries by radical islamists. There's also a law that says if a woman cheats on her husband, she has to be stoned and many women were stoned in early Islamic era while a man is allowed to have 4 wives and 40 temporary ones according to Islam. Taliban used to stone women in reference to Islam. I know many more violent laws practiced by Muhammad and his successors so I wouldn't call Islam a religion of peace and love but I respect your point of view. It's beneficial if it helps someone to become a better person, but if they use it to justify decapitating people, there should be consequences.
