EVERY TIME

This comment is so true in my group. Pretty much the only people who play blue/control in my group are the types of people who are irl very controlling and bossy people. One guy even bought all the cards for that net decked modern land bounce deck that doesn't let your opponent play any lands or keep them on the battlefield and he thought it was gonna be the greatest and most unbeatable thing in our group, but the first time he played it against me I told him that it is no fun to play against, that I'd never play against him again with that deck, and that it's more griefing your opponent and trolling and and asshole thing to do when all we want is a fun game of cards. But more to the point, that's just the most egregious example of his tendencies. Pretty much all the decks he thinks are cool are the ones where he controls the board, mill strategies, etc. I tell him that I know it sounds fun to you but it's not fun for your opponent to watch you play solitaire. However I think he would have tons of fun on Arena because it's not about friends and making sure your opponent has a good time. Yet ironically, he insists that he will never play Arena because he likes the social aspect of paper and he always talks about the flaws and negative aspects of Arena. I think he just likes to control people and it's no fun when you can't make them feel dominated and helpless in person.
