I don’t think you’re silly I just think you’re WAY over thinking this. If you really like someone you know it, they are all you think about, you can’t wait to be with them and every message or call has you grinning like a lunatic. You don’t really like this guy you just let yourself go along with things hoping you would come to like him. That was a mistake but you’re 16, we can’t be expected to make the best choices at such a young age.

You should be up front and tell him you just want to be friends and don’t see a future together. Just because he likes you does not mean you are obligated to like him back even if he is the nicest person on the planet
