I'll repost what I stated below. That's not at all what I meant to suggest, but I can 100% see why it came off that way. I worked in a podiatrist office last year where I saw some really uncontrolled diabetic patients (like A1C of 13) and would come in monthly with a new ulcer and, despite constant all our attempts to educate them, seemingly no desire to change the habits that led to their problem. I now work in a hand orthopedic office and yesterday I had to watch the doctor tell his patient he needed to amputate another finger (he's already had 4 amputated) and that's tough to watch. We just need a little humor to take the edge off a little.
