So every university in my country is free as from this year.

Think for yourself! You said you dont agree, you are right because that statement is a very common bullshit thing old people say (yes, i am being rude - but i am too used to old people having shitty opinions, i have a low tolerance for it).

I could repeat to you whhy it is wrong. But that is not going to help in the long term. Challenge that statement, articulate why 'you dont really agree' against why you get what she is saying. You can even discuss it with her directly. From experience, challenging an elderly person rly show how wrong they are and how their opinions are based on feelings and ideas that come from a past that doesnt exist anymore (btw, i am basing this off discussions i had with members of my family, i dont go around interrupting old people talking)

As a more out there challenge, think of robots and automation. There is not a good answer to tbe problem, but we are the generation that will have to deal with it and we should consider how to. Our (world) economy is currently based on always increased production - that is not sustainable for a number of reasons (population, environment, etc). This is a point a bit out there from the discussion, but imo it supports the idea of free university

Also, fuck classism and restricting people opportunity to achieve better education!
