Why is everyone bending over backwards to pretend WFH has absolutely zero downside whatsoever?

This post is to do with WFH and nothing to do with fiances or FI there are more relevant subs.
I live in an apartment in the center of a big city, it's always busy where I am. I WFH because I want to and at any point I can be more "social" if I go down stairs or meet people for lunch ect. The point is I have a choice. I remember being forced to commute to a business district / city center to only sink 8 hours of productive or not so productive work time and then having small talk with people you work with because you pretty much have to. We all did this for 5 days a week and we didn't have time to do anything and there was 0 balance in my life. It was forced. With WFH culture it weeds out all the fluff that the vast majority of working professional really don't give a fuck about.
