Yeah, I think it's more of an attraction to an idea than a person. Kinda like men who are attracted to "Asians" - as if you could possibly determine anything from ethnicity (there are pleasant Asian girls, and horrible ones - as with any other demographic). I mean there really isn't any such thing as a gamer girl. There might be girls who play games - some of whom will be nice to know, some of whom won't be. The fact that spmeone plays video games seems a really arbitrary reason to be interest in them and, I would expect, if a gamer dude gets a gf he should be getting excited over other things.

I think the reality is that many men are so lost in their own insular worlds that they mix up fantasy with reality (cute gamer girl who rescues lonely gamer dude when, in reality, she likely has her eye on someone doing a bit more with his life than xboxing). Gamer girls don't need gamer guys - to think otherwise is to long to find salvation in a rather useless, rather pointless, hobby.
