Everyone, please be gentle.

I am honestly shocked how many students come here asking very basic questions without any research done beforehand. Haven't these students been studying, reaching, and learning on their own? I mean this is literally what students are supposed to do.

I am actually a bit worried about this generation. I don't mean to sound patronizing at all. I think there is a difference between my generation - older Millenials - and this one. I remember the days before the internet. I remember how hard it was to find information. I remember how I hard to learn how to research when the internet was evolving. I remember doing my taxes by hand. And I remember how frustrating and annoying the CRA and Service Canada was when 99% of things could only be done by an actual person. Students born after the internet became mainstream have not had to deal with these types of things. Most things can be found by a simple Google search if you know what keywords to look for. I don't think that is their fault I just think this would be an excellent opportunity to start doing your own investigating.

Anyway, I don't mean to harp on anyway. I am happy to help anyone with their questions, but I would encourage everyone to at the very least, read the FAQ sticky.
