Everyone says first semester grades count and second semester you can relax.

Would it matter to you if the high school profile were inaccurate specifically for learning mode? The profile says hybrid when, in reality, they went all virtual about halfway through the semester. Kid doesn't want to mention it to colleges, as it would seem whiny, though the virtual format was detrimental. Traditional grading in place as indicated in the profile, no sympathy/generous grades.

(My sense is that, overall, some kids have really struggled with learning formats this fall. The nearby public had to change their grading scale dramatically to prevent too many kids from failing. But, colleges might not be aware, at least until they see the mid years)
