Can I ask how you’d feel if in five years, when the pandemic is in our rear view, that you found out that masks aren’t effective?

The WHO has done RCTs on mask-wearing and the flu and the studies showed that the masks were ineffective.

I don’t believe the same level of study has been done on Covid, but the Covid particle is smaller than the influenza particle (20 nanometers vs 80 nanometers, respectively), so it will be interesting to see the future studies that are done.

For the record, I agree with you that’s why Trump lost so many votes. Also, even though I don’t think masks are effective I have no problem wearing one when I’m out and about. It’s not a hill to die on for me. I’d like to see RCTs that involve mask-wearing and viral dose and if wearing a mask helps lower viral dose upon exposure. Anyhow, thanks for reading this.
