To everyone who thinks they might have missed their chance at a great relationship because of a mistake you made

It takes a long time to get over trauma. I’ve been divorced 8 yrs and it took legit 6 yrs until the raw pain was fully gone. I thought I was over him 3-4yrs out, but when drunk or alone and sad I would still cry. And I would totally be a mess if I had to talk to someone new (luckily I had a bf for 4yrs living with me so I wasn’t dumping it on others). Now I can honestly briefly talk about my past as a more or less history of my life, but I have no pain at all about him. But age and getting better at relationships also helps. So if a girl does dump things on you quite soon, she really may not be doing it because she’s not over it, but she may also be trying to connect with you. Sometimes girls want you to know their past to know them. That’s also a thing. Sucky but it’s how girls often think. Good luck in future!
