Yeah man, that's a really good point. It offers some great benefits and, generally, I am pro-surveillance. I like the idea that our cars, homes and devices can track us and prevent crime.
However I'm rather different to others because I am OSINT. I believe in Open Intelligence. I do not believe that using such proprietary systems can be a good idea for law enforcement. We're not removing or breaking down jurisdictions or technological borders, we're creating more and making it more heavily subscription-based/accessed.
You make excellent points and I agree with all your pros. I just want the storage/access model to be different.
Now, every time I hear "Amazon" I just hear "Omni Consumer Products" and as a student of Verhoeven I am deeply worried by this! :)
