The Evil Within 2 physical launch sales quarter of original

Agree to disagree, then.

I guess.

Because it's a third person action game where situational awareness is key.

And that isn't applicable to Horizon? A higher FOV would have been amazing but's limited, why? Well, ask why they sell a more expensive console to help issues built upon this question for both Xbox and PS. Come on we're speaking the same language.

Prey's FOV slider was removed at release because it caused bugs. It was added back later when the bugs were fixed. It's the same reason why a lot of games (cough, Resident Evil 7, cough) don't have 21:9 aspect ratio support. That aspect ratio causes visual bugs and the devs either don't have the time or aren't interested in fixing them. From a developer perspective, it's better to have a stupidly low FOV than to allow people to raise the FOV if raising it causes issues.

RE7 to TEW are again very different games. Even development wise, you have to admit it makes no sense to compare a purely first person game to TEW, right? Regardless of that, your point makes no sense. On release that game looks beautiful. System, PC, doesn't matter. All they did was improve an already great looking game. TEW? They didn't do anything to a subpar game in a modern world.
