Ex-Boy Scout Admits Killing Former Troop Leader Who He Says Raped Him

What the hell is wrong with society??

Why is everything a competition to be the most violated or victimized? And be proud of it too??

If I was in this guys shoes I cant say I wouldnt do the same. But if I did, it it would be by breaking down and choosing the low road.

The ideal thing would be to aknowledge it and move on with life. Im not saying this is easy, but its the higher road and I would be more proud to move on with life instead of dwelling on revenge.

There is martyr mentality in america where everyone wants to be the biggest victim. Its almost as if you are glad he murdered the alleged pedophile as opposed to live his life without emotional burden. It lets you live vicariously through his story so you justify your own retributions against those who have wronged you.

If you were raped, and had the emotional capacity to move on, why would you WANT to sacrifice your life for vengeance? You are letting the event affect you twice instead of once.

People cheer for this shit because mob mentality turnes groups of people into monsters. All logic goes out the window. The whole point of due process is to present evidence to the mob (jury) so they can form an unbiased and balanced sentence seperated from their irrational judgment. The word justice literally means balance and it is blind (unbiased) . Hence the blindfolded woman holding the scales.

Take due process out of the picture and justice isnt served, nothing is balnced out or justified. Its unguided retribution and doesnt stop the wheel of hate from spinning. And now you have a bunch of immature risky teens who read this story and got the idea "mabye I should kill my uncle who touched me that one time, that will make me feel temporarily better. Obviously my peers think this is justice"
