She claimed she needed it for emergency surgery that a) she already had 12 months ago when we did work together (the surgery is a once off outpatient procedure), and b) we have free medical treatment in my country for emergencies anyway.

I assumed she picked a surgery she has already had done so she could convincingly discuss it. The surgery which has a typical recovery time of 2-3 days required her to take 3 weeks off last year, during our busiest period. When she returned she told me that she had just spent the last two weeks hanging with her new boyfriend while I covered all her shifts during exams. I knew she was a shit person but stealing money from strangers is not cool.

I also found out she is a cam girl on the side of her job so I find it especially disgusting that she has a full time job, is a cam girl and steal had to con people out of their money.
